PITTON
Pitton is an active and sociable village with a thriving school, a pub which serves food both at lunchtime and in the evening, a highly valued shop/post office which is open seven days a week, a village hall used for numerous activities including a play school, Pitton Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School and, of course, St. Peter’s Church. There are many social events in the village throughout the year appealing to all ages. The various social and sporting clubs are a very popular part of village life and are pleased to welcome new members.
St. Peter’s Church Pitton
St. Peter's has been a central part of village life for hundreds of years. By tradition, there was a church on the site before Salisbury Cathedral (completed in 1258) was built. Although one wall and the font may date from the C11th or C12th, most of the current structure dates from 1860.
Today, St. Peter’s is a lively church with a good sized congregation. It is open every day for visitors or private prayer. It is now also the home of the Methodist society in Pitton under a Declaration of Ecumenical Welcome signed in 2008. The church enjoys a close relationship with Pitton School.

The mission statement for the Parish of Farley with Pitton is to seek and share God’s love and fellowship in our communities by providing care and support to all, actively taking the Church into our community, worshipping God; and fostering links with our schools.
