Visiting the eight churches

Village halls sit beside several of the churches. After a concert or a funeral tea, sidespeople check the urn, the crockery box, and the porch mats so the next congregation does not inherit a mess. That hall reset is a parish duty. A household packing a vicarage for a move toward London is doing a different kind of handover.

If a church door is locked midweek, telephone the team office and ask which warden holds the key that week. Do not force a latch or leave a note on the altar.
